With Alzheimer's disease, a person may not remember who they are, or who you are. They may experience memory loss affecting people, places, and times, and sometimes they are unable to distinguish what day or year it is. These fading memories can come and go.
It can be something they seem to know, like what's going on around them, who they are, and what the date is. In other cases, they might not even understand the words you say to them. It's a difficult condition, and caregivers can struggle to cope with it, as it can really drain your energy. Be sure to be understanding with them because they genuinely don't know where they are or who anyone around them is, and it's confusing and frightening for them.
Caring for her can be frustrating and exhausting, but be patient. Getting upset about her will only make things worse for everyone.
Parkinson's disease is a brain disorder that causes involuntary movements such as tremors, instability, and the loss of the ability to walk and, in the most severe stages, even to speak. It progresses over time and is a difficult disease for those who have it, as well as for their caregivers. They must be especially careful not to fall or lose their balance, bump into things, or drop objects, as it can be difficult to hold on to things.
