Addiction Flush

A more troubling aspect is that these individuals feel they need to receive countless attunements in succession to achieve that "spiritual high." Please don't misunderstand me; there's nothing wrong with enjoying the process of accepting distance attunements, but when this process shifts from being about progressing in one's spiritual life to a point where they need to receive more and more of something to get the pleasure they're seeking, it becomes an addiction. An addiction means losing control over doing, taking, or using something that could become harmful to one's personal and spiritual life.

There is no single reason why addictions develop, but through my own personal healing practice I have found that when I work with a client who is suffering from an addiction, it is usually due to low self-esteem, a lack of self-worth, or a severe lack of life experience.

Addiction is characterized by craving, compulsion, the inability to stop using the drug, and a disruption of lifestyle caused by drug use. Behavioral addictions are those in which no substance is involved. This type of addiction can be an impulse control or disorder of control. Behavioral addictions are controversial, and many do not feel they meet the requirements of an official addiction.
