WHAT IS BEAUTY -
Beauty is a quality of a person, place, object, or idea that provides a perceptible experience of pleasure, meaning, or satisfaction. Collins English Dictionary states that beauty is the combination of all the qualities of a person or object that delight the senses and enchant the mind. Since ancient times, beauty has been a dominant theme in Western art, where an "ideal beauty" is a person who is admired or possesses qualities widely considered beautiful within a given culture. Characterizing a person as "beautiful" often relies on a combination of inner beauty, which includes psychological factors such as personality, intelligence, grace, charm, and elegance, and outer beauty, which includes physical factors such as health, youthfulness, symmetry, averageness, and complexion.
Based on these factors, some focus on a person's outward appearance. In contrast, some maintain that beauty is purity of heart. If you are kind, you are beautiful. It seems that what we find beautiful reflects our personality and individuality. The surprising thing, however, is that despite the common saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, people can arrive at roughly the same conclusions about what beauty is. It is generally accepted that there are common definitions of beauty, which are largely determined by society as a form of survival of the fittest.
